On September 16–17, 2014, Head of the Department of the German Language and a professor at the Dicle University (Diyarbakir, Turkey) Mehmet Sıraç İnan paid a visit to Vilnius University Kaunas Faculty of Humanities on the basis of Erasmus Exchange.

During his visit, our guest introduced pieces by German authors (Friedrich Dürrenmatt, Heinrich Böll, Franz Kafka) and shared his insights into the relation between German and Turkish literature. The professor was kindly met by the Dean of the Faculty Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kęstutis Driaunys, Vice Dean for International Relations Prof. Dr. Jadvyga Krūminienė and the Head of the Department of Germanic Philology Assoc. Prof. Dr. Danguolė Satkauskaitė. They were glad to acknowledge the Dicle University as one most active Erasmus partners of Vilnius University Kaunas Faculty of Humanities, and discussed future collaboration possibilities. During the excursion around the University, the professor was impressed by the Audiovisual Translation laboratory and the Faculty’s modern library with had been opened at the beginning of the fall. Professor Mehmet continued his first stay in the Baltic Region in Vilnius and Riga.
